Master of Engineering: Engineering Management
The Master of Engineering degree program seeks individuals who can "LEAD" successful business units, portfolios, programs, and projects including new product development and introduction. To be successful one must couple a foundation of solid analytical skills with a leadership/management style that stimulates collaboration. This interdisciplinary masters degree does just that: Develops a solid analytical skill set based upon Industrial Engineering core capabilities; Coupling this with modern leadership and management techniques in areas such as engineering administration, systems engineering, project management, risk management, and strategic technology development; and then expand this into elective sequences focusing on entrepreneurship and innovation, supply chain management, systems and software management, and quality management.
This interdisciplinary blend of engineering and business allows the masters student to remain technically astute while adding the management component. With this engineering focus, the Master of Engineering with an area of study in Engineering Management is quite different from an MBA.
