An expert's view at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic

In February 2020 there was an indication that the virus that emanated from Wuhan, China could impact other parts of the world as did SARS. Travel, trade, and education have all made our interconnections easier and more frequent.  PLuS Alliance Fellow Professor Raina MacIntyre is an NHMRC Principal Research Fellow and Professor of Global Biosecurity. She heads the Biosecurity Program at the Kirby Institute, UNSW Sydney.  Bisi Olulode, Communications Officer, PLuS Alliance interviewed Professor MacIntyre in February 2020 to gather her insights into what the potential effect of this virus could be in terms of transmission, taking preventative measures and what were the prospects for a vaccine.
