The PLuS Alliance, representing Arizona State University, King’s College London and UNSW Sydney, has reached a milestone agreement with one of Indonesia’s biggest conglomerates, the Rajawali Corporation, to deliver online education to senior executives.
The agreement with the Rajawali Corporation, a diverse conglomerate with interests in property, mining, plantations, natural resources, media and telecommunications, will provide online education programs in leadership, management and business. The direct-to-business online model is believed to be the first of its kind in Indonesia, with a pilot program of 25 senior executives expected to launch in March.
PLuS Alliance Managing Director Paul Ramadge, who held discussions with Rajawali executives in Jakarta earlier this year, said he hoped that the partnership would provide a model for other agreements in key international markets.
“The PLuS Alliance is delighted to enter this new relationship with the Rajawali Corporation, an indisputable leader in Indonesia’s business community. We are seeing unprecedented demand for online education in a number of emerging markets such as Indonesia, and the opportunities for PLuS Alliance and its partners are significant. With a commitment to international collaboration and innovation, we are keen to partner with government and industry globally to provide high-quality online education at scale, to students and senior executives alike. This new agreement is an important step on a very exciting path.”
Peter Sondakh, Chairman and CEO of the Rajawali Corpora, welcomed the opportunity to offer world-class business education to emerging leaders within the group.
“The success of our business depends on the capacity of our people to manage rapid technological and economic change. The partnership with the PluS Alliance will broaden our intellectual horizons and give us a strategic edge as we develop new business lines and adapt to evolving conditions in global markets."
The PLuS Alliance combines the strengths of three leading research universities on three continents – Arizona State University, King’s College London and UNSW Sydney - to solve global challenges around health, social justice, sustainability, and technology and innovation through research and online education.
